Indoor Safari Park

This was our second visit to the Indoor Safari Park.  I think she appreciated all it had to offer a lot more this time than the last.  All I remembered from our visit a year ago, was the little train moving at lightening speed while the lady was giving commentary like we were on a real African safari.  We were really surrounded by tons and tons of stuffed animals.  This resulted in me laughing so hard I had tears streaming down my face.  I'm pretty sure I totally embarrassed our friends who had invited us.

Anyway, this time we met my cousin Kendal there with her two boys Brody and baby Cal.  Brody and Madeline are just 6 months apart just like Kendal and me.  Here are pictures from the day.  This time around adults were not allowed on the train because apparently it was too weighed down and came off it tracks at some point.  It was much slower this time around so we weren't too worried, and I didn't embarrass anyone this time either.  So all in all it was a great day!

Loved the ball pit

Hold on tight!

Why yes, that is a robot chicken that waddles and clucks.
She was very sad when her turn was over.

The Jumping Queen

Baby Cal was so happy to watch the Queen of the Trampoline.

Not even 5 minutes down the road

Dentist Visit #2 Sept. 5

So happy it's over!

Showing off her bracelets and sticker!

We love those pearly whites!

Madeline did fabulous at her latest dentist visit.  She sat in the chair and had her teeth polished like a big girl. I think holding her puppy helped.  There was no drama....just one brave little lady.

A Dog named Rover

No, we did not get her a puppy. I just wanted to document the first thing she actually named. Her baby dolls' names are baby girl, baby boy, and pink baby. When she came and told me her dog's name was Rover, I got pretty excited.

Saying good bye to paci

This is a note from Mommy to Madeline.

So for several weeks now we've been talking about being a big girl. We transitioned from crib to toddler bed no big deal. On a couple of occasions, we have talked about how pacis are for babies and you're a big girl. One night on a walk, daddy thought he had you all convinced to give your pacis to baby Clara but you changed your mind by the time you got home.

Well, today we went on a walk and talked some more. I wasn't going to push it but you just seemed ready, maybe? After lunch, I asked you about it again and you said yes and even pointed to a box in your closet. So we got a box, put the pacis in, and you helped me tape it up and set it out for the mailman to pick up to take to baby Clara. I think that may have been harder for me to do than you. It's one of the last baby things you still have and sometimes it's hard to see my little baby growing up so fast.

You were fine until nap time. We sang some songs, and then I told you night night and that we were so proud of you for being a big girl. You cried for your paci around 10 minutes and are now laying quietly in your bed. I'm not sure of you're sleeping, but I sure hope you're having sweet big girl dreams. I sure love you little one.

Quote of the Day

"This is nice." She said this when her daddy put her in the tub. It was so funny how calmly and plainly it came out of her little mouth.

Picture: She was so happy to carry the butternut squash she picked out around the store today.

Oh my...

Little Madeline, today you really challenged us. Your listening and following direction skills weren't at their best, but your rendition of "Be Still and Know" at bedtime nearly brought us to tears. We love you so much.

The Rainbow Connection

So thankful for cool, rainy April days that allow her to wear the rainbow leggings a few more times.
